Your First Problem

Question 1

Is a discount of 30% off the regular price followed by a discount of 50% off of the sale price the same as a discount of 80% off of the original price?

You create the price of the origional item and prove your answer.

the 80% off is bigger than the 30% followed by a 50%... why.. quite simple...
say an i-pod is $100 (if i was so lucky to find one that cheap...)
and it was 80% off day... then i would only have to pay... $20
but if it was 30% day off... i'd have to pay..$70.. but then i have a 50% off coupon on top of that.. then i'd only have to pay... (70 / 2) = $35.. there you go...
