More problems to try

Question 1

Tom Terrific has a garden in the shape of a rectangle. He wanted to plant a tree in a specific spot. He wanted it to be in the exact center of the garden. What would be a way that he could find the center without using any measurement?
Try using a picture in your answer!!

Question 2

Groups of campers were going to an island. On the first day 10 went over and 2 came back. On the second day, 12 went over and 3 came back. If this pattern continues, how many would be on the island at the end of a week? How many would be left?

Question 3

12:34

You have a digital clock that shows only hours and minutes. How mahy different readings between 11:00 AM and 5:00 PM (of the same day) contain at least two 2s in the time?

The answer is not the most important part of this question. It is the explanation of the journey and how you got to your answer that is.

D W C
1 10 2
2 12 3
3 14 4
4 16 5
5 18 6
6 20 7
7 22 8
total = 112 =35

112-35=77 didn't come back
77 stayed on the island.
35 returned home.

Tom could use a brick, a piece of paper, or anything else that you can spread on the garden.(Don't use paper or you will be chasing it) In this case 5th brick, paper, or what ever that has been layed out. Harbuck I'll hyperlink in our blog to show you my picture!
